There has been debate over the use of Craig's List because of the schemers that invade it. As with anything in life you have to take the good with the bad. Same holds true for Craig's. What I like about it is that you can save money and make money on it.
First lets look at saving money. Always check the free section first. You would be amazed at what people give away. As the old saying goes one man's trash is another man's treasure. Many times I see people giving away wood, bricks and baby items. If your a parent you know the expense of having a baby. Anything and everything helps. I once gave away a crib. My daughter didn't need it anymore so I listed it. Back came 20 plus responses. From soon to be parents as well as organizations. I've seen may people giving away bricks and wood from a demolition project at their home. Saves them disposal cost and give you materials for your home projects. If you do the labor you have a free home improvement increasing the value of your property. Winning situation for everyone. Next check the for sale section. Many times you can pay about 75% less for things new and used. If your not looking for a tangible item check the labor section. Do be careful here if getting an electrician or other highly skilled labor make sure they are licensed and insured. Don't take their word for it ask for proof. If you don't it can be a devastating mistake later down the road.
So how do you make money on Craig's ? Of course you have the obvious, sell something you no longer need. Listing is free and there are no selling fees. When listing don't give out personal information. Let them respond through the system or you may find yourself getting robbed. Another way is get something free on Craig's and sell it on Ebay. Old comics are so hot on Ebay and many times people cleaning out a house will list them free.
Do you have a skill or special talent? Do you play piano? Offer lessons. Do you love yard work? Mow lawns, plant flowers or do spring clean up. Get creative!

Max out your Rebates
Rebating can be time consuming so you have to make the most of it. One of my favorite stores to rebate at is Rite Aid. You can submit them online saving a stamp, envelope and work. A good way to maximise the rebates are save every not expired coupon you get. Go to the store make your purchase, use your coupon, with any luck catch it on sale and then get the full rebate amount back. Rite Aid is well known for their toothpaste and hair care rebates. Those product coupons also tend to have the longest expiration dates too. I have many times been paid $1 to take the toothpaste from the store. Combine strategies whenever possible. Also, don't forget to sign up for their emails. They often email $5 off $25 coupons. Put them all together and your shopping smart.

Bigger is not always Better
Bigger Cars use more gas. They are usually more expensive to purchase. Tires cost more as well.
Bigger house more expensive to heat, more rooms to furnish and maintain, higher taxes, higher insurance.
Bigger yard. Cost more gas to mow or more labor to have mowed. More water usage for sprinkler system to keep it green.
Do you really need all that room or is it for appearances?
